{"id":1156,"date":"2014-05-31T20:29:23","date_gmt":"2014-05-31T20:29:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wmoafrica.co.za\/?p=1156"},"modified":"2014-05-31T20:30:43","modified_gmt":"2014-05-31T20:30:43","slug":"report-on-wmo-durban-family-picnic-18th-may-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wmoafrica.co.za\/index.php\/report-on-wmo-durban-family-picnic-18th-may-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"REPORT ON WMO DURBAN FAMILY PICNIC 18TH MAY 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alhumdulilla with the grace of Almighty Allah the weather did\u00a0not let\u00a0Sunny Durban down on the morning\u00a0 of Sunday the 18th of May 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Curtains were drawn open from the time of fajr and the womenfolk were busy on their watsapp chats with messages indicating the positve signs of good weather but with the cautious warnings\u00a0&#8220;With the Weather you never know&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>AK with his son Asif, Al Imraan and Zaahid with their team were at the picnic spot at 7.00am with the first batch of chairs and tables to reserve the best picnic spot.<br \/>\nSolly Suleiman joined the team by 9am folliwwd by Yusuf Kamdar who as usual brought breakfast for the first team and therafter the buzz and excitement of the set up began.<br \/>\nJameela Joosab came in early with her family and was constantly messaging\u00a0 to Fazila with:<br \/>\n&#8220;Don`t forget to bring this,\u00a0Don`t forget to bring that.\u00a0Where did you put this.\u00a0Where must I place that &#8221;\u00a0And the excitement of the day began!!!<br \/>\nYou could hear everyone talk at the same time :\u00a0&#8220;The WMO banner will look good here!\u00a0The jumple castle should be there.\u00a0Please shift the registration table to that shady spot.\u00a0The tea table should neither be here nor there&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And so it went on and on and the exitement built up right till the moment when the true spirit of it being a WMO function was when President of WMO Mr Sattar Dada and his wife Ayesha\u00a0 honoured us with their presence and were one of the few guests to arrive promptly at 11am.<\/p>\n<p>By then the whole venue looked like a grandeur function with exquisitely layed out buffet stations and\u00a0 tea tables by the courtesy of\u00a0 Fazila and the AKI Family .<\/p>\n<p>Kara Nichas on the spot Chilli bites and jalebi was sponsored by Yusuf Kamdar together with a team of waitresses to serve tea.<\/p>\n<p>AK ismail had organized a sponsirship from Ikhlaas Latib and Anwar Karrim of\u00a0 Caterquip for the following:<\/p>\n<p>Stations on the Spot of:\u00a0Candy floss,\u00a0Pop corn,\u00a0Ice cream,\u00a0Waffles,\u00a0Tea and coffee .<\/p>\n<p>Haroon Mohammed organized the sound System and he also organized the Jumping castles through a sponsorship by Hasshim .<\/p>\n<p>AKI Wholesalers and Natal Builders had their dedicated team of office staff take over the\u00a0co ordination of the whole event from:\u00a0Loading and transporting\u00a0 and setting all the chairs and tables,\u00a0gas stoves,\u00a0extension cords,\u00a0Jumping castles,\u00a0Bain marines,\u00a0Mussallah, carpets,\u00a0Etc etc<\/p>\n<p>Zohr salaah was read with Mr Sattar Dada after which he\u00a0 enjoyed\u00a0 biryani lunch with members and guests.\u00a0Mr Dada had to leave early otherwise he would have had witnessed a most\u00a0 spectacular scene of memon families streaming in their numbers.<br \/>\nThe ederly mingled with the young and exchanged\u00a0\u00a0stories of times gone by and the youth expressed their views on caring for the ederly and communiry bonding.<\/p>\n<p>The photographs will tell the rest of the story and the congragulatory\u00a0 comments received made all the hardwork worthwhile as this was a dedicated effort with rhe sole purpose of bonding with our\u00a0 community .<\/p>\n<p>Alhumdulilla The\u00a0 WMO Durban FamilyvPicnic saw an estimate of between 750 to 900 people attend.<\/p>\n<p>We are truly thankful to Mr Yunus Suleman VP of Africa who constantly puts pressure on his executive team to perform\u00a0 and the initial persuasion of Shabir Moosa to Host such a functtion together with the never ending encouragement of Yusuf Kamdar and the guidance of Solly Suleiman and Adv Moosa and the dedication of AK Ismail of getting work done and the teamwork and networking of ladies of Jama&#8217;atun Nisaa.<\/p>\n<p>We also thank Brothers Sattar Dada,\u00a0Solly Noor,\u00a0Feizul Ayob\u00a0 and the rest of the BOM for their dedication to\u00a0 WMO and putting Africa in the forefront on the map of\u00a0 WMO International .<\/p>\n<p>May Almighty Allah bless them for all their efforts.<\/p>\n<p>With salaams and Duas<br \/>\nFazila AK Ismail<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alhumdulilla with the grace of Almighty Allah the weather did\u00a0not let\u00a0Sunny Durban down on the morning\u00a0 of Sunday the 18th of May 2014.
